Off they go...

1st Day Of School

Frank told the kids they could pick out their own "1st day of school outfit"....are you kidding me? I wasn't sure I couldgive up that kind of control, but I was strong...Logan was pretty excited to start 4th grade. It's weird cuz I remember everything about 4th grade. I can't believe he's that old. I took pictures of him in his class, and he was a good sport for the 1st one (as long as we got it over with quickly). I pushed my luck and tried for a second. "Tried" being the key word, he hid under his desk til I left :(

Chase was pumped to start 2nd grade as you can see in the first picture, but things went downhill fast when his teacher wasn't waiting for him outside like she said she would. He couldn't find his class :( I helped him find his "home", and he was back to cute little chase! Oh, I almost forgot....Chase has been telling me about this kid that's the "meanest boy in the whole school". His name is Kip, and when we saw his class list, he was on it! When I took Chase into his class, this boy say hi to chase, and Chase looked right at me - I knew it was Kip. He introduced himself, "my names Kip, and I'm the most famous kid in the WHOLE school". I said, "well, Kip, if you're that famous, I should get a picture", so here he is..." THE MOST FAMOUS KID"

Carly was everything I thought she'd be...happy, excited, cute, and fashionable! When she saw this "blinged-out" tank, she had to have it. She knew exactly how she wanted to wear her hair. So, I round brushed, and flat-ironed it for her. No attachment issues for her - just perfectly in her element. She had SO much fun...only one cute boy at school though. :(

GNO's

Yes, PLURAL! Before the kids went back to school we wanted to have a good old fashion Girls Night Out, and Guys Night Out. Me and Carly were off to do whatever we wanted...which ended up being Wingers (cuz they have popcorn), shopping (got her a halloween costume), and Nanny McPhee Returns. I had such a good time with my little Carly. She was SO excited! I gave her a white dress, and black sandals to put on for our little "date", and she decided to spice it up a bit...here's what she came up with... I'm pretty sure my baby thinks she's Hannah Montana! When we first got in the car, the music was on. I turned it off, and Carly asked "why'd you turn of the music". I told her that I wanted to talk. She was baffled, but participated whole heartedly. Actually, she MORE than participated. She didn't shut her mouth the whole time! Finally, she said with a deep breath, "ok mom, now its your turn to talk". That's my girl :)

I can be certain that the boys weren't near as chatty as us girls. They went to Texas Roadhouse, and saw Karate Kid, where the boys learned what the "a" word was. Chase leaned over and asked Frank, "is THAT the a-word". Frank said, "yep". And Chase said excitedly, "yes...I know the a-word". When I asked Chase what his favorite part of the movie was...you guessed it! I'm so proud :)

Summer Checklist

St. George, Brian Head, Cedar City...CHECK!
MY vacation started a few days before the trip when my BFF took both my boys to St. George. Just me, Carly & Frank was quite the vacation in an of itself! Carly was pretty excited to be the "princess" again. She got to watch Barbie movies in the car, color, sing...and all those other things girls do that annoy the crap out of boys :)We dropped Frank off in Cedar City to work, while me and Carly took the party to St. George. The kids have so much fun there, and have been asking for this vacation since the last time we visited. Steph's been with me through just about EVERYTHING since 4th grade, and its always fun to be kids again!
Here are some of the highlights...

SPLASH PAD

(don't look too close, I tried to edit - boys are gross!)

PIRATE ISLAND PIZZA

BEAUTY SHOP

(no my friends...it does NOT stop after high school) We still love the 'primp'...just wish there was a prom in town! We made bracelets for the girls, and played with the new clip in hair extensions I bought - never had long hair before. Kinda felt like a dead animal on my head. Who knew dead animals could make you feel so much younger?

Then we took the party north to Brian Head Resort where we met Stephs friends at a cabin. The Rhino took us for a ride!...and we loved every minute :) Ummm....yes, it's a child helmet - only my punie head could pull off that hot look!

After that, me and the kids met up with Frank in Cedar, and partied one last night with his friend Kevin, and their family. They fattened us up pretty nice! Thanks for the hospitality :)

What to Wear....?

I was really busy trying to get things taken care of before my trip to St. George. Carly kept bugging me, so to keep her 'occupied', I told her to go find some clothes to take on the trip. She was in there for a while, and when I came in to check on her, here's what I saw...

Little Miss Carly had laid out all of her 'outfits' magazine style! She put them together complete with accessories, shoes and even underwear! (I love how she put it in the right spot) She pulled out beanies, and coordinating flower clips. Even the pj's are laid out with top on top, and bottom on bottom. I think she did a pretty good job...my little girls all grown up :(

A spread like this deserves titles, right? We'll call them...

The Preppy Princess

Hula Honey

Watch out Cosmo...here comes CARLY :)

Tuna Melts...

Were NOT a big hit at our house :)
Frank's been worried that all the kids eat lately is corn dogs, meatballs and cereal. They're the pickiest eaters I have EVER met, and no two kids like the same thing! Our meal times have turned into an a la carte extravaganza. Logan will have meatballs, Chase has a corn dog, and Carly wants Pasta Roni. They REFUSE to eat what the other is eating.

I'VE HAD ENOUGH! I'm the boss, right? They eat what I tell 'em to eat, right? I had a bunch of left over buns from a BBQ, so I decided to make Tuna Melts. I drained the tuna really really well, added a titch of mayo, and added finely diced dill pickles, put it on the bun, and smothered it in cheese, and stuck it in the broiler! I even gave them a bag of frito's and lemonade to round it out a bit. Here were their thoughts....

It took about an hour for them to choke down my culinary masterpiece! Only a few dry heaves, tears, pleas, and MAD FACES! But I made them do it...VICTORY! They all finished....granted, I had to literally feed Chase and Carly, but it was done! Our neighbor Macey ate over too...she didn't seem too bothered....

Truth be told?....I WON'T EAT TUNA EITHER! :)

(don't tell the kids)
