So, She Thinks She Can Dance!!

About three weeks ago, Carly started Ballet at Bountiful School of Ballet. They have a pretty strict dress code: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, all hair pulled back, no underwear, no skirts, etc. I was a little nervous about this since she usually insists on wearing a dress to dance - Princesses, you know. She was super excited to wear her new ballet garb anyway, and couldn't stop looking at herself, she loves to "shake it"...

She was a little apprehensive about being with all those girls (she's not the most social), so I had to stay at the bar with her for a little bit. Carly followed instructions ok, but didn't talk to the teacher once. After the first week, it was "no mommies allowed". Carly would have none of that. She was terrible the second week. The teacher said that Carly would just glare at her if she tried to talk to her. So, the third week, we went to 7-11 on the way, let her pick out a treat to put in my purse that she could have after the class if she was happy, and danced. She got the treat! She still says, "My can't talk to my teacher, though...beacuase it's too scary". I tell her that her teacher loves her and that she shouldn't be scared. And her reply, "No, she doesn't wove me so much, my don't fink".

Although Carly has a difficult time, Chase is catching on very quickly. Since he is with me at dance, he has mastered how to "sit on your marshmallow, then stand up, sit on your marshmallow, then stand up". He quotes this line during breakfast, playing with friends, at the grocery store...he has great form. He's a natural!

Love the music you've put with this post. Carly looks so cute in her dance outfit. It is good news that I didn't sign Grace up for the Bountiful School of Dance. She is in no way interested in being consistent on the potty and the "no underwear" rule would just NOT work fo us!

Thanks again for letting me bring my parents over to see your floor. I think they found one today that they really like!

There is just something about little girls that I can't resist. She is so dang cute!!! And she's a lucky girl to have two big brothers to watch out for her. Great photos and I love the music!
