Bonneville Trail

This weekend Frank and Logan were supposed to go on an overnight scout camp, but Frank couldn't get off work early, so we decided to take the kids out the next day to go on a hike, build a fire and roast marshmallows.  Since moving to Kaysville, Frank found Bonneville Trail (about 5 minutes from our house) to be a nice place to Mountain Bike, so he decided that would also work for our little family "outing".

The scenery was breathtaking.  It was a nice leisurly hike.  A little ways in, we came across this little bridge.  Carly was ahead of me and the sun was shining through the trees, and in her hair.  So pretty.

It was great to see the kids getting along so well.  We don't go hiking a lot as a family, so maybe the novelty of it was keeping them kind to eachother.  I got this one of Carly and Chase...a rare photo op.

After a while, we found a little river surrounded by trees, with a clearing in the middle.  We decided to stop here to teach Logan how to build a fire, and then the best part...SMORES!!

Just a good night...all around :)  It's funny that your life can feel so perfect one minute, and so opposite from that the next.  I'll just hold on to this feeling, and hope it carries me through the not so perfect times.
