Presidents Day

In our house on Beverly Way, we spent nearly all long weekends working on house projects...which is one of the reasons we decided to move.  Although there's still plenty of work I want to do to this place, it's been nice just relaxing in a new home that doesn't need any major repair, or remodeling.
Don't know why I went off on all that.  Just made me appreciate the day we spent on Presidents Day doing whatever the heck we wanted :)  So, we slept in and decided to have an early lunch.  Wanted to go somewhere new, so I looked up Diners, Dives, and Drive in's and searched Salt Lake City, and found this little gem...

And we were off....!

After that, we headed to the middle of the city to Ice Skate at Gallivan Center.  Actually pretty fun!

We were a little anxious about taking the kids.  They tend to get frustarated when they can't do something, and take it out on us.  They fell down plenty, but not one single tear drop!  They were having so much fun.  Chase asked if skating was a sport, then told me ice skating was his new favorite sport.  A little surprising since he was down more that up, but whatever!

I don't know if it's Carly's dancing, or what, but she picked it up pretty quick.  She's a determined little girl, and won't stop til she's mastered it!

Then there's Logan...

He's just getting so big!  He's changing before my eyes and it freaks me out.  About 20 minutes in, Logan was feeling pretty confident about is skating abilities.  I think he was even feeling the music a little.  Anyway, he skated next to me and took my hand, so we skated for a little bit, just me and my boy.  After a couple minutes(and feeling all grown up and even a little nervous), Logan said to me, "so....do you have any weddings or anything you're working on right now"?  It's like he knows he's getting older and was attempting to have a grown up conversation with me.  I seriously about lost it, but I couldn't laugh or he'd feel so stupid.  So, we just had some "small talk".  I felt like I was on a "couple's skate" at classic roller rink all over again :)  So cute to see him figuring out how to transition from kid, to boy, to smelly teenager!  He is a kind, good, smart boy.  I feel so lucky to have him in my life!

...and all THREE of them!
